Services
Trading
Since 1924 Ingalls & Snyder has been a member of the New York Stock Exchange. We are also members
of NYSE ARCA, NYSE - Alternext, and the International Securities Exchange. Clients
are benefited through prompt and efficient execution of orders by our
in-house staff of traders.
In 1991, we formed a taxable fixed-income department emphasizing high-yield
securities. Though actively involved in the full spectrum of non-investment
grade bonds, we specialize in little-known and smaller-sized issues. We also
provide the facilities to transact in U.S. Government securities, municipal
securities and options contracts when appropriate to the needs of specific clients.
Operations
Our broker-dealer facility allows us to provide custodial services at no additional cost
to investment advisory clients. We pride ourselves in being able to accommodate the special
needs of our clients promptly and efficiently, a service not easily found in the current
financial industry. We find our in-house data processing, utilizing our independent and
proprietary computing capability, to be a valuable element in our servicing of client accounts.
It allows us to provide clients or their accountants with year-to-date income and capital gain
and loss figures useful in tax and estate planning.
Ingalls & Snyder has the capital and facilities to clear its own trades. Our commitment to
self-clearing, unusual for a firm of this size, is consistent with our conservative operating and
financial philosophy. Client securities and cash balances remain within our control and clients
benefit from maximum efficiency, accuracy and confidentiality.
Additional Financial Services
Retirement Plans
We encourage clients to establish tax-deferred retirement
plans. Self-directed profit-sharing, pension (SEP),
and IRA plans can be excellent vehicles for long-term growth
of capital and serve to broaden a client’s total investment
profile in ways difficult to achieve solely in taxable accounts.
Fixed Income
We believe most investors should consider a balanced portfolio
approach, utilizing fixed-income instruments and equities.
We invite clients to discuss with us specific investments
in Treasury securities and corporate and municipal bonds.
Income Remittance
We arrange for periodic disbursement of interest and dividends
to client bank accounts.
Margin Accounts
Borrowing costs are at competitive rates.
Money Market Funds
Uninvested cash balances may be held in a variety of money
market funds.
Options
Ingalls & Snyder provides active options management in
a range of investment styles, from risk-averse (designed to
enhance cash flow return and incremental performance for conservative
portfolios) to more aggressive management. Options are also
used in many accounts to maintain flexibility in financial
planning.
